Cited in 2013 as one of, "THE BEST SMALL TOWN PARADES IN AMERICA" The fall parade begins at the Annandale Shopping Center near Gallows Road, and continues all the way to the Bowling Alley-Safeway. Thousands of participants from Clowns, Storybook Characters, and Marching Bands to Antique & Military Cars, Fire Trucks, Civic Organizations, Scouts, and beautifully costumed International Dancers parade before the residents of Greater Annandale. Sponsored by the Annandale Chamber of Commerce, this sixty-five year old tradition only gets bigger and better every year. Register early, before all spaces are taken.
The Annandale Hospital Bed Race is a community-building event that raises funds for a local charity, and for community-enhancing activities. Businesses gather teams of 5 for this whacky relay race using pediatric hospital beds that have been decorated with great enthusiasm. Prizes are awarded in several categories, with the overall bed race winner receiving a trophy. Where else will you have a chance to see slices of pizza racing against firefighters?
Free Family Fun and Children's Games
Annandale celebrates National Night Out at the Annandale Shopping Center where glitter tattoos, refreshments, martial arts demonstrations, raffles, and lots of children's activities are planned (all FREE) to promote community involvement in crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie. Bring the family, your neighbors & friends to enjoy this evening of family fun, and the opportunity to meet local fire and police officers.
